After registering, we’ll send an email confirmation with more information on how to complete your required labs. You will have an option to use our discreetly packaged at-home TeleKind test kit (mailed to you at no charge) or visit one of our partner labs. If you have questions about either of these options, the Care Navigation Team is available to help you through this process.
A link to your secure patient portal, powered by our electronic record Athena, will be sent to you.
Your Care Navigator will be with you every step of the way and is happy to answer any of your questions. Within a few business days after registering, your Care Navigator may reach out to get some additional information or to provide further instructions for lab work.
We make it convenient to complete your labs, offering either an at-home test kit, which will arrive to your preferred mailing address 3-5 days after you speak with your Care Navigator, or by visiting one of our nearby partner labs. Whichever you prefer, we’ll reach out to you to schedule your virtual appointment with your TeleKind clinician once we’ve received your lab results.
If you are receiving HIV care or Gender Affirming care, your team will also need to order in-person labs in addition to your at-home testing kit, still at no cost* to you. The Care Navigation Team will schedule your virtual appointment once you have mailed back your test kit and we have received your results.
About 5 minutes prior to your virtual visit, a member of the team will send you a text message with a personalized, secure link to connect with your clinician through our secure video platform, Blue Stream. You can access the virtual appointment with a smartphone, tablet, or computer. No apps or downloads are required. If you have any issues, the Care Navigation Team will work with you to ensure you are able to connect with your clinician.
Your clinician will review your results during the virtual visit, discuss your options for care and listen to what feels right for you and your sexual health. Your clinician will also provide any necessary prescriptions directly to our mail-order pharmacy partner.
Your Care Navigator will work with you to ensure your prescriptions are mailed at little to no cost to you to the location in Texas of your choosing (including P.O. boxes) regardless of your insurance status or ability to pay. We can also work with you if you prefer to pick up your prescriptions at a nearby pharmacy. Your Care Navigator will be there to answer any questions and coordinate follow-up appointments and labs for your ongoing care. Virtual appointments will require three-month follow-ups and repeat the test kits and lab work process.
